Title: ‘Untitled’

‘Painting from Egypt’
A bare room. A bare floor.
Closed doors.
Locked windows.
A still fan.
An empty bed.
Muted colours.
An institution?
And in the foreground, a man lying – too large for his bed. Arms rest by his side.
What holds my gaze is his gaze: his eyes staring brightly out; a peaceful smile.
I’m moved and I know not why. The painting remains in my imagination, in my heart.
It touches me profoundly.
